Positive thinking quotes

There is a thought in your mind right now. The longer you hold on to it, the more you dwell upon it, the more life you give to that thought. Give it enough life, and it will become real. So make sure the thought is indeed a great one. – Ralph Marston

“I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.

“Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength.” – Arnold Schwarzenegger

“All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them” – Walt Disney

Success Quote

“So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable.” – Christopher Reeve

Achievement Quotes

“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.”
-Leo Buscaglia

“There is no limit to what you can imagine. And with commitment, with effort, what you can imagine you can become. Put your mind to work for you. Believe that you can do it. The world will tell you that you can’t. Yet, in your belief you’ll find the strength, you’ll find the ability, to do it anyway.”
– Ralph Marston

“It is true that we shall not be able to reach perfection, but in our struggle toward it we shall strengthen our characters and give stability to our ideas, so that, whilst ever advancing calmly in the same direction, we shall be rendered capable of applying the faculties with which we have been gifted to the best possible account.”

“The adventure of life is to learn. The purpose of life is to grow. The nature of life is to change. The challenge of life is to overcome. The essence of life is to care. The opportunity of life is to serve. The secret of life is to dare. The spice of life is to befriend. The beauty of life is to give. The joy of life is to love.”
-William Arthur Ward

“Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.”
– Harriet Tubman

Keep everything in proportion in order to be successful and reach your goals.

In order to be successful and to reach your goals, as well as maintaining your success when you reach it, a number of things must be considered.

Keep everything in proportion –
Show me a person that was a heavy drinker as they were becoming successful, I think that you will be a long time in naming one.
Show me a person that was a gluttonous eater as they were becoming successful, I think that you will be a long time in naming one.
Show me a person that was a fool with their money as they were becoming successful, I think that you will be a long time in naming one.
Show me a person that was obsessed with the “birds and the bee’s” as they were becoming successful, I think that you will be a long time in naming one.

There is something in that! No one is saying to avoid these things altogether, but rather to keep them in their place and in the correct proportion. Overindulgence in these activities or any other, and they will get out of hand and will limit your success.

A servant cannot have two masters, for he will hate one and love the other. – The Bible.

You will become what you think about, so keep your mind only on the things that you really want, not what passes the time or is tension relieving.

Richard Branson / Service / Goals

To go out into the world of business in a selfish, damn everyone else way, only after short term financial gain and with no care at all to the quality of service that you offer, is sure to lead to ultimate failure, which is rightly deserved!

It has often been said that- “we get what we want, by helping others to get what they want.” Quality of service must never be overlooked, even in difficult times and markets. Always give of yourself the best that you can in the quality of service that you offer, go the extra mile when needed and be sure that the customer is happy.

Be sure that you are in the right type of business for your personality and interests. When we do the work that we love, it is no work at all. The time goes by quickly when we are rightly proud of our work and our results. A customer will feel and pick up on the pride we have in what we do; in just the same way a customer will be turned off by a poor attitude or quality of service. You know yourself that you will avoid those in service or business that treat you or supply you poorly.

Reaching your goals will so often be affected by how you treat others who are pursuing theirs.

“……you’re trying to create something this is original, that stands out from the crowd, that will last and hopefully serve some useful purpose. Above all, you want to create something that you are proud of. That has always been my philosophy of business. I can honestly say that I have never gone into any business to make money” – Richard Branson.

Attract your goal, here and now, just do it.

Stay in the here and now! And attract your goal, here and now, by just doing it, doing it, doing it, until it’s done.

You can only affect your future from the present, by doing all that you must do at the present time without delay.

Do not keep your mind on the past or what might have been, look to your future, work towards your future and make that bright, new exciting future happen by just getting on and doing it now.

“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you’ve imagined!”
– Hendry David Thoreau

Be smart in the pursuit of your goals, if you can find an easier way to reach your goal, go ahead and do it now.
Be smart in the pursuit of your goals, if you can find a smarter, quicker way to reach your goal, just go ahead and do it now.
Be smart in the pursuit of your goals, if you can find any method for removing delays to reach your goal, just go ahead and do it now.
-But always be sure to be honest and fair to all.

“The best way to predict your future is to create it”
– Peter F Drucker

Do not become lost in the planning, lost in the past or lost in some other way that will prevent you from reaching your goal. Live in the here and now, do not delay or put off any longer than necessary your bright new future. Set your goal, pursue your gaol, attract and reach your goal – do it now!

Goal setting – 1st July 2011

You may have been recently reviewing your progress towards your goals this year, now that we are half way through the year. Or you may have been reviewing your recent progress towards your goals. Either way you must learn from your past and not be chained to the past. Learn what works for you and what does not work for you. You will never fail if you learn from the experiences of the past, something you’ll later find to be of value, although sometimes you may have to dig deep to find it.

Be positive, it’s the start of a new month full of opportunities waiting to be found by you. Set a new goal for yourself if you are ready to this month or continue working on your present one.

Understand fully the reason why you want that goal; that will provide you with all the natural desire and energy needed to reach that goal. The stronger the reason why, the more desire and energy you will have in perusing that goal.

By all means have a list of goals that you want to reach, but it is best you work on one goal at a time, putting all of your energy into just that one. If you have a big list of goals, some may be interlinked in some way. Working on one of these interlinked goals may actually have a beneficial knock on effect on other goals on your list. So look at your goals list and choose which one to work on first carefully.

“All successful people have a goal. No one can get anywhere unless he knows where he wants to go and what he wants to be or do.” – Norman Vincent Peale

For the next 31 days of this month, keep your goal clearly before you, by keeping it amongst your dominant thoughts. In doing that along you will then be able to see many opportunities around you, you will get great ideas and flashes of insight. Be ready.

Monthly goal setting review –

We have past the 21st of June; the longest day of UK summertime, so from now on the UK days will slowly get shorter. Driving down the motorway I can see the corn fields turning yellow and harvest cannot be many weeks away. My daughter spotted a hotel advertising Christmas meals (in June!)….yes we will soon enough be eating Christmas turkey again!

Doesn’t it make you think? 2011 is half way through already. It is a good time for a review of progress made, both for the past month, as well as back to New Year’s Day. So firstly how have you got on since the 1st of January? Are the goals or resolutions of that day long forgotten? Or are you making some progress with them? Maybe you have had a good year so far and achieved some good results already since that day.

How about this June? At the start of each month I encourage my thousands of readers to set or reset a goal and at the end of each month to review that goals progress. How have you done this month?

It is worthwhile having a regular set review period, so that time or a lack of progress does not march on unchecked without noticing.

Whether this month or this year, if you have reached your chosen goal or made some good progress towards it, then be glad and grateful for that. If not, do not allow yourself to become disheartened by it. Remain positive; as I so often say, “I believe the number one lesson from personal development is; that it is vital to have a positive attitude.” Review your goals progress and all that you have learnt in the time of trying to achieve your goal. Check that your plans are as sound as they can be, but realize that often you cannot know it all at the outset. Some things you are just going to have to find on the journey towards your goal. By keeping your goals dominant in your thoughts, all the right answers will come to you as you need them.

Be clear on your goal.

Understand why you want that goal.

Be calm and know that you are going to reach your goal.

Have faith.

Be persistent.

“Goals give you more than a reason to get up in the morning; they are an incentive to keep you going all day. Goals tend to tap the deeper resources and draw the best out of life.” – Harvey Mackay

Think Big ! And go for it.

Rise with your goals

“May the wind always be at your back and the sun upon your face. And may the wings of destiny carry you aloft to dance with the stars.”
Johnny Depp – Actor. From the film Blow

Pursue your goal without

Pursue your goal and do not be in a rush, it is better to reach your goal slowly, but surly, than missing it by rushing. Like that old saying goes – “more haste; less speed”

Give yourself time for the learning curve as you pursue your goal and go slow enough that you will not miss something that you will need in order to reach it.

When we are in a rush and then miss the goal that we seek, it is then that we get easily disheartened and negativity works its harmful way in, bringing future progress towards that goal to a halt.

Be calm, relaxed, cheerful and confident in yourself that you are going to reach your chosen goal, even if it takes a little longer than planned.

If your goal is something that you truly want then a little extra time will not matter in the big scheme of things.

One of the best ways to make good progress towards your goal is to plan well at the outset. Good planning will make a world of difference to your progress in achieving your goal. Yet at the start off any big project it is not possible to know everything at the outset and so some bridges will have to be crossed as you reach them.

Do not rush, find the speed that will allow you to get it right.
