Goal planning, be flexible and creative.

When it comes to goal planning and the day to day management of reaching your goal the most important thing to realise is that you cannot know everything about the task ahead, especially when going after some really big goal. Trying to come up with a plan with every possible detail in it would be a wonderful thing if it is possible, but in most cases when planning for a goal there will be a lot of unknowns. Adequate time must be spent on the planning process, but at some point it is time for action and without action there can be no result of any kind; results to enjoy the benefit of or results to learn from. To become caught up and lost in the planning of a goal allows a form of procrastination to creep in, often unnoticed. The vision is the most important thing when it comes to goal planning. To have a clear idea of where you are going, a vision so strong that you will not allow the trails that will come as you work towards your goals to take away that focus and vision. That vision will make you like a guided missile, intent on just one destination. A guided missile knows where it is going, but will have to make constant adjustments on it journey to allow for many factors, the winds, weather conditions, terrain, gravity, laws of physics and so on. Rocket science is a famously difficult subject due to so many constant variables. The point being, that entire missiles journey is not planned at the start, it is done by knowing the final destination clearly and then making constant small adjustments on the way. The same will be true for you and your goal. Know the final destination and plan a route to get there with as must details as you can come up with. Then take action. Learn as you go and make adjustments as needed. Be flexible and creative.
