Goal setting and positive thinking work well together and produce a synergy effect which leads you to being able to reach your goal as quickly as possible. Goal setting just on its own is only half the story. Many have no problem in setting goals, but have a lot of problem reaching them. Positive thinking is a vital part of being able to reach your goals.

Life will continually present all kinds of distractions to you, some will be fun and pleasurable, and others may be possible problems and worries. If you have a strong positive attitude then you will be able to keep all of these distractions in their rightful place because you are able to see the big picture.

We all from time to time have to live with that dull aching pain of wanting something that for a long time does not come to us, but using goal setting and positive thinking together is the only way to reach that goal. That dull aching pain of un-fulfilment can be useful if applied and harnessed correctly in the form of desire, but never allow it to become a major negative force which gets you down and by doing so ultimately brings your goals progress to a halt.
