Happiness, purpose and goal setting

Happiness is the one thing that each and every one of us seeks. Very often in this pursuit of happiness, which ought to be easy to achieve, some get all wrong, instead of following worthy fulfilling pursuits, they follow short term, easy escapisms which ultimately lead to something less than true happiness.

Unfortunately some will spend their whole lives basically bored. They will clock watch through ever hour of every day and expect something of interest to arrive for them, yet they will do nothing to attract it.

Happiness is arrived at by having a purpose, usually in the form of a goal. This purpose may be even something day to day, like being the best at their line of work or striving to cook the ultimate sunday roast for the family. Or it may be a life purpose, to do, to have or to be something, and constantly working towards this end. Very often happiness is to have a mind occupied by a worthy pursuit or goal to work towards. If we know where we are going and have a direction in life then, then we are not beset by ongoing confusing problems, but instead we arrive at interesting challenges. These challenges we will always solve, whereas life’s losers are beaten by problems.

So decide on your purpose, then set the goal and in the pursuing of pursuing your goal you must always be positive and this will lead to being happy and fulfilled, even if the goal takes longer than planned to arrive.

What is success?

What is success?

Success is to dream and then to pursue that dream.
Success is goals giving you a purpose and direction in life.
Success is not to follow the crowd, but to rise above it.
Success is to find your real true self and work to improve yourself more.

Success is to be positive.
Success is brave.
Success is to have a mind of your own and to use it independently.
Success is not to be taken in by fools and their foolish ways.

Success is to accomplish.
Success is to carry on while others would just turn around and walk away.
Success is overcoming obstacles; again and again
Success is to never become disheartened.

Above all, success is looking to the future, instead of being stuck in the past.
Tony Brassington.

Goal Setting; One Goal After Another

Goal setting needs to be an ongoing process. Sometimes it may feel like waiting forever to achieve a certain goal, but with action, persistence and determination you will eventually achieve it. The journey itself and having reached the goal is often the more exciting than the time after reaching your goal. We look forward to Christmas or a birthday and the presents that we will receive, we enjoy opening those presents, some days afterwards the joy of those has reduced somewhat. When we have reached one goal we should get to work on another goal, goal setting should be a continuous process; setting one goal after another. This makes life interesting, satisfying and fulfilling. Goal setting gives a person a direction in life; gives a person something to fill the mind with.

A directionless person is often a board person, they find it hard to get out of bed in the morning. When something happens which is unwanted, unexpected or challenging, it causes them even more confusion, worry and anxiety; how can they find their way forward if they do not know where they are going in the first place?

So use your goal setting and goal attraction well. Let it fill your mind and add to your quality of life, even if your goal is sometimes slow in arriving, stay happy and positive. Remember that goal setting needs to be an ongoing process, a way to enrich your life and the lives of those around you. Always remember to enjoy the journey, because it is the journey that really matters and on that journey be sure to grow as a person in skills, knowledge and character.

This wonderful world is full of abundance and is here for us all to enjoy. It belongs to no one, anymore than another.
Do not live your life always watching others win.

Choose all that you desire to have in life, not in a selfish, thoughtless way, but make your choices carefully and then pursue them honestly and intently. Turn those choices into goals and make those goals dominant in your thoughts. Then you will win all that you want and will not have to spend your life watching others win, while you do not.

“Abundance is not something we acquire. It is something we tune into.”
Wayne Dyer

“Expect your every need to be met. Expect the answer to every problem, expect abundance on every level.”
Eileen Caddy

Believe that you deserve it, believe that it is yours and then start to use goal attraction to reach it.

Many will watch others win out in life and get jealous and upset about this, instead of realizing that this world of abundance belongs to us all. Do not watch – join in and get all that you want and desire.

Goal setting August 2011

Here we are at the start of another new month. At the start of each month I encourage my thousands of readers to set and pursue a new goal or to carry on in the pursuit of an ongoing goal. So after reflecting on your recent progress, it is now time to look ahead with renewed energy. Know clearly in your mind what you want and have a strong clear mental picture of your goal. Regularly visit this mental image as often as you can, never doubt in that goal, instead calmly expect it. Do that for the next 31 days of this month, take action when at the right time and never delay. You may well be surprised by all that you could achieve in this month.

(Remember also to set some goals for your personal qualities e.g. conversation skills, self control, calmness or whatever may be helpful for you to master.)

Review your month, July 2011

As another month has ended, it is time to review the passing month, to think over the results of the month from a goal setting point of view and a personal point of view, but always to do this in a positive upbeat frame of mind.

Ask of yourself, what did I do well this month and what could I learn from this month and improve upon?

Ask yourself, what progress have I made towards my goals this month.

Ask yourself, how have I grown as a person this month.

Reflect on the best and happiest time of the passing month and be grateful for them. Maybe you can add a happy positive memory from this month to your store of good time memories which we should all have and build upon.

Think about how you have interacted with others this month; look for the best example and one to improve upon.

After some reflection on this month ending today, start to give some thought to your plans for next month. More on that tomorrow.

Creative visualisation and goal attraction.

Creative visualisation has always been the secret of many people’s great success. Creative visualisation is to plan in your mind some future event of your own choosing. Deciding on every detail in advance, deciding to create what is sometimes called – a future history.

Creative visualisation is to use your mind’s eye to imagine this future history and this future history becomes stronger by regularly visiting the scene in your mind’s eye. Many will tell you to use this creative visualisation three times a day, morning, noon and night; more than that if you can. But in reality as long as it is regularly visited in your mind that is what matters, even if it is some days apart.

Creative visualisation works best when we are relaxed. Take a little time out to relax, even just a few controlled breathing exercises is enough to change your state to a calmer and more relaxed state.

Creative visualisation must never be doubted; it must be calmly and surely believed in as something that is going to happen. See this creative visualisation in your mind’s eye as present time even though it may still be some time off. See this future history as if it were a reality now. That is very important.

Creative visualisation has been used by mankind in this way for thousands of years to great effect. The more we use this skill the better we get with it and reaching our desired results.

Creative visualisation –
See it in your mind’s eye.
Believe it.
Expect it.

The meaning of life and your goal setting.

The meaning of life, oh how they have pondered over that one. The problem is that no one can be sure that they have the correct answer; because there is so much that we cannot prove or cannot know.

Well let’s look at a few things that we do know. We come into this world with nothing and we leave this world with nothing – or do we?

1. We leave with a life time of experience of this world and our time in it.
2. We leave with a life time of experience interacting with others.
3. We leave with a life time of experience of knowing ourselves and how well we dealt with life and its challenges.

The meaning of life must be the experience of life and how we interacted with others and the world around us.

Each of us has a lifetime and we are free to use it as we will. We are given countless choices and opportunities, we use these well or waste them. We have choices and opportunities; to interact well with others and not be offended each time someone makes our life difficult. We have choices and opportunities in how we use our time, time used well or wasted. We have so many choices and opportunities.

But at any time we can choose to change as a person for the better, to be happier, calmer and living in better harmony with others.

The time that we have now we can improve upon with goal setting. A set of clear well define goals will give person a purpose and direction in life. Then pursue your goals, but always with fairness and consideration to others.

Be sure to set some goals for your personal qualities, think about the term Personal Development and what that implies.

I do not pretend, nor could anyone else, that the thoughts above are the last words in the meaning of live, but I think that they are worth some thought. Use your time well. Use it in good harmony with others and use your goal setting to improve your live and the lives of those around you.
